PRINCIPLES and BELIEFS

Ammonia Process Safety Management believes that the OSHA process safety Management (PSM), or the California Accidental Release Prevention Program (CalARP), or the EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) should be implemented as a company "lifestyle" instead of a compliance project. Program startup costs become an investment in the future. A company that makes that investment wisely may expect a verifiable "Return on Investment".

Ammonia Process Safety Management believes that the economic benefits of Process Safety Management are long term and that the ecomomic burden of implementing a Risk Management Program should also be long term.

Ammonia Process Safety Management believes that your PSM/RMP Program must be tailor made, developed, and implemented to enhance your company's values. Existing practice and procedure should be modified and improved with additions added when necessary to improve safety or meet regulation requirements. One "size and shape" program will not fit every business.

Ammonia Process Safety Management believes that "Employee Participation" is the key to a successful Risk Management Program. Every employee, from the president to the most recent hired person has a functional and paperwork responsibility to minimize the risk of handling hazardous chemicals.

Ammonia Process Safety Management believes that a risk management consultant's responsibility is not satisfied until the documentation is complete and the reporting system is functioning. A regulatory audit will assume that activities not documented were never performed. A risk management consultant has an on-going responsibility to monitor reports, reporting deadlines and all required documentation for timeliness and completeness.

Ammonia Process Safety Management believes that the relationship between a risk managementconsultant and the company being served must be a long term "partnership" based on loyalty and trust.
